My apologies for a slow start yesterday. We had a couple of problems "coming out of the gate". The medium KHS has a rear brake issue, which we noticed when we got it to street level. It will go in for an adjustment today, but it may not be available for Wednesday's ride. We then had to decide on the bike to use in place of the KHS. That left the Burley, which then needed to be adjusted for the stoker at the Bean. It was questionable whether or not the saddle could be raised enough for the stoker, hence another delay. All in all it was a good ride down the lilac trail. The smell of the lilacs is worth the trip this time of year.
I really appreciated everyone's patience and understanding during last night's ride. When one bike is in for repairs, it leaves us really tight to find a replacement tandem in our fleet. Then, when two bikes are down...well, it's a real scramble.
I appreciate that you all make a big effort to get to the storage room/Bean by 5:45 for a 6:00 start. In respect of everyone's efforts, we are really working on getting closer to that start time.
Please don't hesitate to call me with any concerns or suggestions for improvements. This is your cycling club, so we value your opinions/suggestions. Thanks folks!
