The weather does not seem to want to cooperate for our orientation tonight so we are going to move to our rain date of Saturday May 3 at 10:30 at Nichol's Oval. The weather for Saturday is not looking great at this point in time. If that date is awash then we will have our second orientation on Monday May 5 at 5:30 pm at Nichol's Oval. This will replace our first ride night. We encourage everyone to come out to ride the bikes and get more comfortable. Those who attended the first orientation could practice ride at 5:30 while the others are taking part in the orientation and then at 6:30pm we will get the people for the second orientation on the bikes.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our first orientation day. It was a great success and even the weather cooperated. It was fun to see everyone getting accustomed to the tandems and the positive comments regarding the orientation and their experience on the tandems. We are hoping that the weather for Wednesday nights orientation will likewise cooperate. We will keep you posted.
Our first orientation is tomorrow, April 26. The weather appears to be improving, with a slight chance of an isolated shower. There is one change in that we will be meeting at the rugby house (at the front of the park) and not the pavilion in the back. This is great because we will have coverage from the elements and washrooms available. Snacks and water will be available. Please bring your helmets and dress for the weather. See you tomorrow.
Spring has sprung - well sort of - and our first Easy Rider experience is not far away. Following our orientations on April 26th and 30th, we will have our first group ride on Monday May 5 followed by our Wednesday ride on May 7. We will have rides on Monday and Wednesday throughout the season. Each ride begins at the Silver Bean in downtown Peterborough for a 6 pm start. Please come a little early to get organized. To sign up each week for rides, all captains and stokers need to go the Rides tab and follow the sign up process.
Our orientation and training day will be held at Nicholls Oval towards the back of the park at the pavilion. The tandem bikes will be waiting for you.
The day will consist of explaining the differences between riding a tandem over a single bike, captain and stoker responsibilities, safety issues, best practices for tandem cycling and extensive practice time. Please bring your helmet, water, warm clothing (hopefully not needed) and cycling or running shoes. Snacks will be provided. |
