It is really exciting to plan our first special ride. We will be meeting at the Silver Bean at 10:30 on the morning of Saturday July 12 and heading to Lakefield. The exact stopping point will be a surprise based on the weather of the day. We are asking each individual to pack their own picnic for the day and we will enjoy our time together chatting and eating. You will likely need to bring a backpack along since trunk space on the bikes is very limited. We expect to be back to the Silver Bean by around 2:30 ish. We are hoping for a nice day since we are not planning for a rain date. Please call Anne and let her know if you are interested in participating.

More excitement for TandemEyes. Tomorrow morning between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m., TandemEyes will be covered on the CBC Ontario Morning, Radio One. If you are available, please listen in.
Captains have been arranged for tomorrow's ride. We will have our new tandems out, so please join us for our celebration ride. Captains please pick up tandems at the storage room. Also, please inflate tires before coming to the Silver Bean. You have to use the gauge on the floor pump to check tire inflation...feeling the tire doesn't tell you if the tire is properly inflated. The recommended tire pressures for each tandem are listed and posted on the wall. As always, all single bikes are welcome. Hope you all enjoyed this beautiful day! We are going to be having our first special event ride on Saturday July 12. The details will follow as to the time, the route and the nature of the picnic. With regret we are cancelling our ride for tonight, Wednesday. We remained optimistic until just now, but the weather doesn't look like it will cooperate.
This past Monday, we had a lovely ride along the trail to Lakefield ... smelling the phlox along the way. Hopefully next Monday the weather will be just as nice. See you Monday! It's a beautiful day for a bike ride! Mark will lead us from the Silver Bean starting at 6:00. Captains please pick up your bikes from storage at 5:45 and be sure to inflate tires to recommended pressures. Also, please bring the bikes to the grass area beside the Silver Bean instead of along the pathway to the restaurant. The owners have mentioned that the bikes can block the passage of pedestrians to the restaurant. Our tandems are big and take up a lot of space especially when grouped together.
