Who Are We?

Riding a bike in the great outdoors is an exhilarating experience.   The scenery, the sounds of nature, the fresh air, exploring new areas and meeting new people along the way.  Not to mention the great exercise and health benefits related to spending time on a bike.

Now imagine if you lost your sight or are losing your sight or perhaps you have never had the ability to see.  The loss of sight could be the end of your cycling adventures.  You might ask how a person with limited vision could continue in a sport they enjoy.   Perhaps another question would be how would a person who has never had sight be able to ride a bike.  There is a simple answer - TandemEyes.

TandemEyes is a cycling club that facilitates individuals with partial or total vision loss in their pursuit of cycling.  We provide tandem bikes in which the person with the vision loss (the Stoker on the back of the bike) works with a Captain to explore local trails and streets on a casual, social group ride.  Our captains are skilled cyclists who are passionate about riding, love meeting interesting people, and have some time to share the sport they love.
