It's a beautiful cool day for cycling. Captains please inflate tires. Leaders for tonight are Donna and Lynn. Have a great ride!
Our Mondays have not been kind to us lately. As the thunderstorm rumbles through and the rain comes pelting down, we have to make a call on the ride. There are significant puddles on the road which will make a ride, not only uncomfortable, but somewhat dangerous. The thunder, lightning and rain is to continue until 5:30 so our decision is to cancel. This afternoon was looking so promising but it turned very quickly.
Unfortunately we have to cancel tonight's ride. We have dark clouds and thunder rumbling. It's always a tough call to cancel a ride, but we have stokers who have to catch buses at 4:30 and 5:00 to get to the SB by 6:00, so we need to make the call before they leave their homes.
Let's look forward to great weather next Monday. Enjoy the rest of your week. Hope everyone had a great Canada Day weekend!
Tandem teams are set up for tonight's ride. Please check this site for updates if the weather looks questionable. Tandem Tip Each week we will post a tandem tip/reminder. This week, safety is the key message. Please note that according to PCC guidelines, we must obey the Highway Traffic Act and come to a complete stop at stop signs and red traffic lights. We realize this requires more effort on a tandem than on a single bike, but it also provides an opportunity to practice stops and starts! |
